The components of the KUDDE dog bed
Our KUDDE dog bed essentially always consists of two components:
- A high-quality, orthopedic foam core.
- A cover that meets your requirements and matches your dog's preferences.
With certain offers and variants, you also receive an insert or a special cover.
High-quality foam core - two variants for the desired lying comfort
The heart of the KUDDE dog bed is the stable, ergonomically shaped foam core - where the base and rim are firmly connected. There are no loose parts that could slip, and it makes assembly easier. There are two foam types to choose from: Standard and Special. Your dog always lies securely and orthopedically supported.
- KUDDE Standard: A high-quality, dimensionally stable cold foam core that combines comfort and support. It adapts elastically to your dog's body, thus reducing pressure points and supporting natural posture.
- KUDDE Special (Visco): The foam core consists – as with the Standard KUDDE – of stable cold foam in the rim and base area. In the lying surface, an additional continuous layer of memory foam (visco foam) is firmly integrated. This layer specifically reacts to your dog's body heat and adapts particularly gently and individually. The result is even more effective pressure relief, which especially benefits older dogs and animals with back or joint problems, while also promoting blood circulation.
Quality you can feel: Both foam variants are Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified and are manufactured in Germany. They impress with their breathable structure, which ensures a pleasant sleeping climate. They are particularly durable and resistant to daily use. Thanks to their temperature-resistant properties, they are ideal for use on underfloor heating.
The right cover for your KUDDE: synthetic leather, vegan suede or fabric

Thanks to the sophisticated sleeping system, you can flexibly change the covers of your KUDDE, instantly giving the dog bed a new look.
We differentiate between basic covers and fabric covers:
Basic Covers
You pull basic covers directly over the foam core of your KUDDE. They protect against dirt and moisture – and are particularly easy to care for, as they can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Basic covers include:
- Synthetic leather covers (special editions in pastel and terra colors)
- Vegan suede covers (suede look)
- Protective cover – this is used as a basic cover under a fabric cover if no synthetic leather or suede cover is present. It is automatically included with all KUDDE dog beds with a fabric cover (e.g., KUDDE Cord). The protective cover cannot be purchased separately and cannot be used without a fabric cover.
Important: Basic covers cannot be pulled over each other. For example, if you are using a KUDDE Cord with a protective cover and later want to switch to synthetic leather, you must remove the protective cover beforehand - basic covers replace each other!
Fabric covers
Fabric covers are comfort covers and are always used over a basic cover, as they themselves offer no protection against moisture or dirt. However, they are machine washable.
If you order a finished KUDDE with a fabric cover, a rubberized protective cover is included. An additional basic cover (e.g., synthetic leather) is then not included.

Good to know: The underside of all KUDDE covers consists of an air-permeable fabric that ensures optimal ventilation of the foam core.
Easy to change
You can redesign your KUDDE at any time – depending on the season, taste or need. The only important thing is that the bed and cover are the same size. For example:
- Are you currently using synthetic leather and want to switch to corduroy? → Simply pull the corduroy cover directly over it – done, without any conversion.
- Do you prefer vegan suede instead of synthetic leather? → In this case, you exchange the complete cover – this is also quick and uncomplicated.
Care & Cleaning
Synthetic Leather Cover
Simply wipe with water or mild detergent – not suitable for washing machine! For optimal longevity, we recommend the combination of special cleaner and KUDDE balm.
Vegan Suede Cover

Fabric Covers & Inserts:
Depending on the material, washable at 30–40 °C and partly suitable for tumble drying. Please observe the care instructions for the respective product. For the best result, we recommend lightly pre-cleaning the fabric with a lint roller.
Foam
The foam core must not be washed or tumble dried! If it comes into contact with liquid, allow it to dry completely before putting a cover back on and using it again.
